Mental Health Services Admissions Criteria

Mental health services can be provided in gender specific units for males and females from the age of 18 who meet the following criteria:

  • Adults with severe and enduring mental illness requiring a low secure environment for treatment and rehabilitation
  • Male and female mentally disordered offenders requiring a low secure environment and ongoing treatment and rehabilitation
  • Adults moving from medium secure services to low secure environments requiring continuing treatment
  • Women with personality disorder requiring specialist services including DBT
  • Men with mental illness and degenerative neurological conditions or complex physical health needs
  • Elderly adults over the age of 65 with dementia, challenging behaviour and/or mental illness
  • Male and female patients requiring rapid access, low secure services
