Mental Health Services Admissions Criteria
Mental health services can be provided in gender specific units for males and females from the age of 18 who meet the following criteria:
- Adults with severe and enduring mental illness requiring a low secure environment for treatment and rehabilitation
- Male and female mentally disordered offenders requiring a low secure environment and ongoing treatment and rehabilitation
- Adults moving from medium secure services to low secure environments requiring continuing treatment
- Women with personality disorder requiring specialist services including DBT
- Men with mental illness and degenerative neurological conditions or complex physical health needs
- Elderly adults over the age of 65 with dementia, challenging behaviour and/or mental illness
- Male and female patients requiring rapid access, low secure services
